One suggestion i would like to add is, it is better to type your comments in a word document and then copy paste it. Many a times i have lost what i had typed due to technical issues in blogger.com.

Look at the image below:

Then read the following article:

  http://thefederalist.com/2018/04/24/problem-social-media-isnt-media-social/

Click on the first link and access the article to read.

If the first link doesnt open, copy and paste the second link in your address bar.
In the comment section of this post, each one has to write the following:
1. Write two lines about the issue shown in the picture
2. After reading the article, write your views on it either supporting or opposing. But give your viewpoints on the given article with examples.

Write that in the comments section.

  1. I totally agree with the idea of the article. Off late, people have sadly come to an understanding that true opinions and perspectives don’t stand a chance in getting ‘viral’, and fake it with what they think would attract the crowd. I loved the way the article describes the sense of individualism and collectivism in social media platforms, especially in twitter. The idea of ‘followers’ pervasively influences the individual to project himself in a way that his followers have, so that he would also be followed by more. Somewhere between thumbs-up and re-tweets, we have lost the enthusiasm in appreciating uniqueness and honest perspectives on an issue. This has become a habit in us and we are forever scared to speak what we think is right. This makes me relate to a very common situation in group discussions among students, where individuals are genuinely scared of rejections and criticisms if they want to voice their perspective against everyone else’s in the group. There we become a dead fish and go with the flow. We humans (the ‘social’ animals) are gifted with the 6th sense of extra sensory perception which makes us outstand other creations. But we let our perspectives die just in order to be social.I believe its high time to wake up and get out of the clutches of ‘what would they think?’ and start being ourselves everywhere. Afterall, its just a technology, its a boon if its a slave to us. But a big bane if we are slaves to the technology.Ultimately, we get to decide how things should work.

    2. We can start following. have cheat days in between, experience how it feels to be unique in the crowd of collective opinion. Lets just hope for things to change. But certainly, it cannot change in a day.The change should be gradual and sustained.

  2. (picture)

Words and words are all I have!

To me the picture depicts a clear scenario of a tech-savy couple who find enough time to do things online rather than just meet and greet. Barathiyar, a tamil revolutionist and a visionarian, beautifully said ‘nimirndha nanadayum, neriya parvaiyum’ to women of ancient times to empower themselves and come out of household clutches. If only this poet was alive, he would have sung the verse without a gender bias, since everyone of us keep looking down on to the screen whenever possible. The idea of chit-chatting during dinner in families has become an age-old practice. Love is spread through statuses and GIFs. Dream destination proposals have just become late night whatsapp conversations. Are we amending the conventional idea of happiness?

    2. This change is bad. I don't think this tech-savy era will see any light. We are in a vicious cycle of technology and loosing the real idea of happiness and human values. But this paradigm shift is something that all of us are trying to accustom just to make sure we dont go out of the loop. We, 3rd millennium humans are dating back to Darwin's survival of the fittest.

  4. ARTICLE
This article aptly describes the concept of crowd psychology, only on a larger scale online, with millions of people logged in to agree with one person. The person whom the crowd supports generally tends to be the one who criticizes another person or situation. This eventually leads to group -forming between the two schools of thought and widespread argument. All this is just for the sake of recognition and popularity; this person may not even be fully informed about the situation that was being discussed. Many assume that just because they have access to the internet , they are entitled to speak ill of a person or of the situation that the person is going through. The internet and social media provides the anonymity for them to hide without having to deal with the consequences of a confrontation.

    PICTURE
The picture is a depiction of a dinner table in a home at present. Our world is now ruled by so much technology that we forget the human aspect of our lives. We are disconnected from our surroundings to the extent that once we open our gadgets we are in individual virtual spaces despite being in the close proximity of each other.

“Women who have abortion ought to be hanged “ these are the efficacious words which made the Atlantic to fire Williamson. According to me his individualism was misrepresented and collectivism has brought his perspective down as a whole .several indifference has brought ,narrow ideological goals. There are facts and there are beliefs and there are things you want so badly to believe that they are as facts to you. I prefer pure individualism and collectivism is undesirable and a balanced mixture of two social patterns is ideal .most people start by being collectivists attached to a group and they detach from them in different degrees and learn to be detached from collectives in different situation .
    PICTURE:
It is exciting as well as frightening to observe the trend as to how technology has intruded into our lives and system. This picture gives us an insight that technology has brought us to a level where in person interactions has become worse .This should not be encouraged in any aspect and this situation should not rule our lives.

    PICTURE:
The present generation people are going nuts over technology. These were initially created to connect with people around the world. In recent times, eventhough technology is rightfully serving it's purpose,it has also become one of the main reasons for fragmented relationships. We are too involved in reaching out to strangers which has brought oral conversations with our loved ones to a halt.We must all try to revive the art of speaking and strike a balance between one's personal and social life.

    ARTICLE:
The article points out the issues people face when they try to be a part of a crowd by being active in social media. They voice out opinions and ideas which they think would please the crowd as a whole rather than pointing out their own thoughts and notions. They do this to gain attention and recognition from a specific crowd.Crowds with different ideologies form groups and this kindles verbal disputes between them.At worst case scenarios, people even curse and swear at others just to prove them right. The 'media' as such is good but the 'social' part of it is not being well understood by the people and it becomes the root to all the crisis. We must try to build amicable relationships with people without compromising on one's individuality and opinions while being a part of social media. This would help us to be our true selves while socializing with people and prevents us from getting into any mobs!

  8. We are living in the age of technology, where our lives are united by the social media. It gives us immense oppurtunities to improve our day to day living conditions and create a world community. But the recent developments like what this author states, clearly indicates that social media is moving away from its intended purpose of uniting people , enriching life and developing a understanding of others.
Social media should be used in such a way that each person could express his/her individual views considering the impact it is going to make on the public forum. Each person should remember their responsibilities of maintaining peace in the world and enrich the feeling of universal brotherhood.

    IMAGE
Technology made some remarkable achievements by uniting and connecting people around the globe but at the same time it distanced the closer ones. People should not get theirselves lost in this era of social media ,they should value the time spending with their closed ones more than anything else. Technology should only be the tool which brings people to people interaction more effective and not to a tool which destroys our relationships with the near ones.

  9. ARTICLE: My point after reviewing the article is that social media's nowadays misusing their power and manipulating people on a particular stream of thoughts. There job is to let people know what is happening around them in and out rather media is manipulating a small issue and made people to focus on that ,which create rivalry between people's of different opinion. According to me ,their agenda is to elevate their PR without considering what impact this will create on social environment. This will made people perform on groups of specific rather reconsidering other side of a particular issue .Now coming to the point of leftist and rightist . Both the parties have advantages and disadvantages.these social media's triggers one of the parties and perform in a manipulative way to create some issues to be telecasted. Nowadays Social media's rather than serving people ,focusing on PR.
    Picture :
This picture gives an intense meaning that how technology is ruling our nation .At first technologies for communication is being developed, that help people to stay connected who are far away from each other ..But nowadays , it is acting in reverse manner creating distance to the people who are near and decreasing the close proximity to each other. These gadgets are too addictive rather a drug do..

  11. The problem with the social media is 'socials' who are influenced by the media. Today's media is all about broadcasting more of public rage rather than the true insight of that particular issue. In this process person's individualism also buried along with the truth. Prospect of media in creating awareness to expand People's knowledge is now de-escalating the wisdom by means of collectivism. So I would like to put a word, people has to realize that, their thoughts are being played by the media and start thinking the actual insight of issue and respond to it.

  15. ARTICLE can also be approached in a psychological way since the post reactions of internet usage differs from persons to person. My views on social media is that, oneself in the process of getting socialized with people and the world is losing his/her privacy on air and he/she fails to notice that which is actually an essential thing to be preserved. The Individualism and Collectivism is yet another problem that is faced by us, in the world of media being social its completely difficult to present an idea and sustain on it, which I mean here criticism is a major problem that completely demotivates us. Its always better to be a step behind than being on social medias all the times and for everything.

PICTURE Clearly depicts that how the technological world developed.this technology achieved in connecting people across the world but that made a distance between the two closed ones!! it seems to be like kms away.Social Media in the attempt of bringing the far ones(strangers)near, we are losing on the closed ones who are living actually with us.

When I read the article, I feel myself to definitely conform with the views experessed in it. Analysing the plethora of scenarios portrayed, it is indeed sad to note that we have fallen prey to an entity, created by us, for mere entertainment. As grips of social media extend into every nook and cranny of this globe, I feel that, people have grown less and less tolerant to different views and perspectives. From days when people embraced differences in idealogies, social media is now plagued with vehement display of abominable emotions with utmost lack of basic empathy. What has happened to us? Under the belief that platforms like Facebook, Twitter etc., encourage pluralism, it has stooped from correspondence and Intellectual growth to “LIKES” and “FOLLOWERS”. Social media, which is supposed to be a medium for societal interaction has made the common-man hide behind the protective façade of anonymity, aloof from the realities and vicissitudes of the outside world.

    PICTURE:

It is certainly enthralling when we realize that, the so-called “globalisation” which should have brought us closer, has made us virtually miles apart. This picture reminds me of a phrase- “Food for thought”. Such dinner-table conversations which actually should involve nonchalant remarks and inane ideas has transformed such that, we started loving mobile screens more than the face of our loved ones. It is funny to think that, humans have actually adopted the idea of silence during a meal and made it more literal. Only one question remains-

Have we become the primal species of this planet at the cost of human interaction?

This picture clearly shows what's happening in our household. People spend their time connecting with someone far away whom they may not even know while neglecting the ones close to them. Technology sure has brought the world closer but in the process has built a bridge in our relationships.

    ARTICLE
The author gives very good arguments about the ill effects of social media but the point which stood out for me is that people play for the crowd. I agree with it whole heatedly but isn't it how almost every person in the world is wired. A person always expects recognition or appreciation for something he does even if it is not his sole objective, some tiny part of him expects it. And it is no wonder that they expect the same in social media. Why, even while I'm writing this comment a part of me expects recognition which I'm sure everyone who already has or is about to write here expects.

  19. The article addresses how uniting people through social media can go wrong miserably. Each one of us has a got public facade and strive hard to keep it untampered . We,humans are conditioned to be social. In a group, we always project our ideas hoping it will be accepted by the people around us, also mutually benefiting the members. In a social media ,owing to the gargantuan proportions of users, one can never be deserted. Someone is always listening us and following us. Given an issue, the members start reacting, take a tweet for example, the people first to comment will either strongly support or contradict the statement. Some mobs have got itchy fingers, they cannot resist commenting. They do not agree to any ideas other than their own. Rhetorical statements soon fill the comment section and the 'objective' of the tweet is lost, it has now become 'subjective', i.e., the emotions of the people commenting. People like Josh Blackmann who wants a common solution are quickly shunted from the conversation. The impact a trending news creates feeds 'Tribalism' and 'Collectivism'.Finding people with similar interests can help tackle a problem, provided there is a mutual benefit we talked about. When a person prefers to be in a community than being alone, he/she becomes a conformist. We cannot expect a person to exercise 'free will' in a stage. Creative ideas and true perspectives are born only when we take off the masks. Youngsters who have the access to internet, can achieve great if they choose to do the right thing over the most obvious thing. Though making more sense than the 'Jallikattu issue ', 'The Cauvery issue' did not attract media because it was less attractive to youth population of Tamil Nadu. Farmers were unable mount a successful protest. Peasants suffering same fate had poor communications. Volunteers from different places united to provide relief to the victims of 'Chennai Floods'. How good it was to see the mere strangers co-ordinate for a noble cause! I agree that the problem is not the 'media',but the standard of the 'social' profile we wish to maintain.

    PICTURE:
I see people who do not have the courage to even look into the eyes of the people whom they are talking to. There is this term 'Textrovert' describing people who are comfortable with texting rather than tête-à-tête conversation. Being emotionally unstable ,they can be easily manipulated. They are busy masquerading online that they find no time left to spend with their family. We only share the happy moments in social media and ultimately find there are no shoulders to cry on at times of hardships. Life has become cinematic and the digital world consumes the pleasures one could derive from the physical world. After all, there are more to us than meets the eye.

The article clearly explains the uses and hazards of social media..how the community forms among the people from different region and soo on...I too got a experience in fb last month...A anime drawer from germany...meanwhile we argued about who is best (death battle) among anime characters....meanwhile we argued among our fav...on that time...we get to know each other...he shown his drawings,he is making his own manga...that makes me sense to do such wonderful hobby in my summer vacation...he teaches me the guidelines through whatsapp...how to draw!!and iam slowly mastering it...not only that...the social media provides the connection between people far away....LINKEDIN-this app provides the community among the people from the same field....
Most of the people using social media to get likes or followers...thats the trend now...its uses like a timepass for an individual...
The usage of social media differs from individual to individual...some use for chatting,flirting...some use for getting to know updates ....yes..internet makes our world small and tiny...on those days...we see the abroad people as a world wonder...in this century...we can easily communicate with them....
There is no problem with SOCIAL MEDIA....but people determines whether it is problem or not...so i conclude to use the media to develop your skills in a right way......

    Picture:
#I clearly sees a dystopian way of living.....lets take an example....just hold a smartphone ....if your mom or dad asks you to do some work..most of us didnt understand or hear their words clearly...because smartphones are the gaugets where you are using all 6 senses through it....10 years back...we used to speak to our family everyday....but at present...we are busy holding mobiles...it controls us....this is scientifically calls 'ADDICTION'......
#People usually addict to things which are trendy or fashion in that period....At 18th century smoking becomes fashion....everyone did and get addicted...after several years ....they get to know the consequences and effect..
#In 80s,90s Television started to hit on every homes...everyone gets addicted to that....but now its old fashioned ...
#like-wise....smart phones are ruling not only in terms of technology...they controlling our 6 senses ...on them......
I dont got any advise regarding that.....because iam also a one of the addicted list 😐😕

  21. This article completely tells that how this social media is wrongly used by the people who are involving in it.Many people doesn't understood the value of persons who are near to them. But,they are considering the people far away from them and connected with them by social media.social media is just a technical tool to create awareness among about any important and most effective news.It just created to deliver the information among people. But we are using it in a wrong manner.Especially girls should be more aware about using the social media. They should not share their personal details and images to unknown person. They involved more in the social media and they are not realising what they are doing. And the picture depicts that two people are talking to each other even without seeing their faces and they are totally involved with their mobile phones.Hence we should overcome this problem immediately and we should spend more time with the humans, not with the mobile phones.

    Article:
Social media is a place to bring people together and spread happiness but it is the most valuable source used as the most trivial one by the society. People spend hours of tweeting. What they tweet is mostly about another person. They share contents about celebrities and other people of importance. But mostly that spreads quickly like a forest fire are the rumours. To fit in people would do something which may actually not be the way they feel. People would post that they are born to be different but they are more driven by the tribalism. In order to show that they are unique and powerful they outsell themselves. They behave like they are in a circus waiting to entertain the crowd for example the interview with Iran people where one on one was different while group interview was about proving their toughness . The social media has also become a place to spread many false news where they share the fake news and it becomes the so called truth to people who don't even take time to analyse the situation. People are using social media like sheep. Following everyone trying to impress others, trying to fit in. It has created narrow minded people ."To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That's what everybody does every hour of his life" these were the words of Ayn Rand and it is having a greater significance in this world where the people are trying to sell themselves as the best in everything.
    Picture:
People follow, text and do everything to be close to others who are just in an electronic device but they would let people in person drift away from their life. It is bitter to think that in today's world one's popularity is decided by the number of followers. People spend time on trivial matters on the internet while they miss the most important things happening around them.Following about people's life who are with you in person is more important than following someone in twitter or other social media

  24. PICTURE:

The image depicts the day-to-day life of the modern era couple. Texting is just one of the means of communication rather than the only means of communication. The advantages of texting have been outnumbered by the vast number of disadvantages. In today’s world wherever we go we can find most of the people just staring at the smartphones and are lost in the world of technology. Most of them are unaware of what’s going around them! There is no point in planning for a get-together while everyone is so indulged in their world of phones. Silence has taken over our face-to-face interactions and real care for the dear and near ones. Just by hitting a 'like' for a picture doesn’t really represent our concern for them. The in-person conversations, the timely help and just few caring words complete the beautiful relationship with our loved ones!

    ARTICLE:

The article sets the trend that “The Problem of Social Media is the ‘Social’ and not the ‘Media’!” I agree to the above statement. Social Medias like “Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram” have become a big part of our society now; they are being used in all aspects of our life. They are excellent platform to initiate social change, positively affect social problems, and help combat social ills that are considered normal patterns of behavior. Yet, the mass media has largely failed in addressing and helping to solve social problems. But this failure is due to the masks that people wear while they address a social problem. As social animals, we are strongly motivated to maintain group ties and preserve social harmony. We hate to stand out, violate social scripts, break face, or risk embarrassment. In the event of ‘collectivism’ we lose our ‘individualism’. This leads to the destruction of creative ideas and hence we circle around the same loop when it comes to comprehending for a solution! Few who speak out are put to various facets of criticism and are fired out. Thus the success and failure solely depends on the impact that people relinquish.

    Article:
Information and communication technology has changed rapidly over the past 20 years with a key development being the emergence of social media.Though the means of communication has changed, effective and productive communication is still lacking. As the article says, many people who actively pass comments on social media tend to follow the trend that is prevailing rather than understanding the depth of the particular issue. I completely agree with the article in addressing the social media influencers. Though it provides a platform to communicate freely, many of them misuse it to support petty issues which gain unnecessary popularity due to this. More usage of such social media diminishes the individual thinking capacity of a person, it makes them more judgemental. Irrelevant peer pressure is an unseen burden of such social media. It often irradiates the individuality and perception of a person. As the article states, collectivism in people's soul has become an evident and increasing problem in today's society.
    Picture :
When ventured, the main motive of social media was to connect distant people, through these years it has been successful in doing it but at the same time it has detached emotional connectivity of a person with his or her surrounding which is very much clear from the given picture. These technologies from being a tool to communicate have become an addiction. In fact it has made people to prefer such conversation rather than a personal one. It has become a dominant distraction to many as the picture shows that even food served is considered secondary. This condition definitely affects the mindfulness of an individual. Also this surely creates drift between one another and also the main reason for many to lack inter-personal skills. Hence this picture is a live example of social media’s anti-socialising effect on present world.

  26. The article projects how social media penetrated our deep instincts and changed our psychological state. This article quotes various instances how fleeting information in social media created disputes among the individuals and how it modifies the perspective thinking of an individual. To my understanding, Social media is a great boon and paranoia in many ways. Social media helps to connect people and also plays a major platform for the generation of employment in recent days. We have evidenced how social platform served as a great tool and bridge during various natural disasters. Though beneficial, recent days people became more and more booze towards social life by diminishing their identity in their realm of family, friends and work place. Now a days Conversations became texts, feelings became statuses and updates which shows how much people are intervened in the threads of social media.
The picture clearly scenes the reality of present world. People who are active in social life losses their responsibility in real life as a result pace of love, joy, fun, affection losses their value in their life and their life obviously became a machine. Parental care is very much deprived since both parents were into social media and their children doesn’t even know the value of love which ultimately make them most vulnerable to all odds of the society.

  27. A race towards 'Dystopia'. That is how I see today's present. I know it is a very negative outlook, however, this is the scenario that has been bothering me for quite some time. Are we so timid that we have to render to technology? Don't we have our own will to dictate us? These questions carry all the anger, frustration and helplessness I feel when witnessing such a situation!
As a child born into one such family, which has made me realize the importance of bonding, the importance of being there for each other(physically and mentally); the strength that such a relationship gives, the way it shapes the character of a person etc, this attitude of men towards technology makes me feel even more scared because i can feel it's consequence, we would lose too much!
Of all those tragedies, out there, in this world that separate loved ones; I find the misfortune due to technology all the more alarming, mainly, because it is voluntary! We sign up for voluntary seclusion from all those people who love and care for us!
Mankind has always drawn out boundaries, perhaps, for the ease of ruling. There is this huge world which we have broken down to continents and the continents into countries, which inturn, to states , cities, districts and so on to a very small circle called the family ( in which I would include friends as well); in the past we had joint families now it's reduced to nuclear and even in here we are now erecting these virtual boundaries, entrapping us and making us slaves in the tech world.
I have a small poem ( not exactly the kind that says," this is poetry!" ; nothing really rhymes in these set of lines and I really have no idea of 'how to punctuate where', but it conveys my frustration better, so I am penning(rather typing) it here anyway!):
When the world was simple yet nice,
When life was 'alive' and living, a joy,
When kids ran wild with silly smiles,
When mothers lived to see their kids enjoy,
When there was a lot of love and care and advice
    And everyone working hard to create beautiful memories for later times;
Came this stranger with his bag of tricks.
    He gave everyone huge surprises and gifts;
Made them see and do things they never imagined could be done.
He promised to make the world a small place to live in
    And life, a luxurious one!
And indeed did he fulfill his promise!
We stand now on a world too small,
But with no other companion but for the stranger who gave us a lot.
In return has he with his magic,
Taken away from us those cherished memories we wove together.
He has made us forget the bonds we forged,
The ones we thought would stand the test of times.
But, here now has he proved us wrong!
And I wonder where did it all go wrong?
Will we ever get the life which seems bygone?

People who are addicted to smart phones will soon come under differentially abled people category because they can't hear what other people saying, can't see the world when they are totally involved in phone. Finally, add my name also to this list.

This article poured many people's heart out. To be a part of social media, one must be very careful about his/her words because a big crowd is waiting outside to pull the words and to insult you. Social media helps them in a good way. So people forget their individuality and join the crowd to be in a safer side. Reasons for a man not showcasing his individualism are fear, inferiority complex or a thought what if others would think about him. Collectivism will switch off our thinking process and we will voice out without analyzing whether it is correct or not. This article made me to realize that WE 'The future of India' losing our individuality just because we are one among the crowd. Internet gave us lot of essential things and also social media but we are using it in a destructive way. So it is in our hands to control the technology and not vice versa.

  29. This picture describes about the gadgets addiction. The level of interaction among the family members has been reduced in last few decades. But they try to make up their bond with far ones by neglecting their own family members. The term "friend" used in social media lacks the affinity identified with conventional friendship.
I agree with the opinions expressed in the article. It points out that people can't open up their opinion in public and it is literally true. When a person looks a comment or post in social media he/she accepts it without any controversial opinion.People were feared to express their opinion and too believe no changes occur in society by opening up their thought. They also feel that expressing different opinion would resist them from getting well with their groups.Social media doesn't enable us to think or react to social issues. As coin has two sides in it social media also enabl us to be aware of the social issues and current situations.

This article deeply explains about the problem in social media.social media is just a part of our life but, many people considered it as a whole life. Both the boys and girls should be aware of the seriousness in the social media that people are using the social media madly.they should use the social media only to spread the important news or messages among people.friends also important to our life but we are not spending the real friends who are near to me but we are giving more important to the person who are far away from us.the picture in this article is also depicts the same thing which I said above.the two friends are replying to each other without any contact with eye but contact with their smart phones.this is situation of our society.as the youngsters we should overcome this problem and we should change it.

  31. The act of 'protesting' in these days is not taking the right turn. In the article mentioned above , it is really an inappropriate and prejudiced reaction that the students took towards the speaker; protesting against him, even before hearing him out. As far as I know, the basic principle of Law itself is not to judge even a real criminal before they are tried. And to see such a situation arising in a Law school, is pathetic.
Protesting is not wrong, but the reason to protest must be worth enough and decorum must be practiced even if it is platform of contradiction. Here in India we have almost never observed this decorum. For the recent issue between TN and Karnataka, the protest carried out was totally unruly, causing greater affliction to the residents of both the places but having no strength to actually bring a solution to the problem. The biggest issue with these protests is that, it is carried out by a group of people who, I find, are just there to advertise themselves by disrupting the harmony of the way things have to be carried out and finally making sure that there is no favourable result. And ' mob' is the right word to describe such a group of people.
Ayn Rand's Fountainhead is one of those books which according to me has a huge, important content. It takes ample courage to write such works. The portrayal of Ellsworth Toohey and Roark, the hero , the former a supporter of collectivism and the latter an individualist, was perfectly done. People like Toohey are the scary people walking around on this planet. They know how things work. They know how to make people submissive. They understand and play with the psychology of the commoners, creating in them false notions, making them believe that these are the ideals they actually believe, making people feel insecure about their own views and when such a herd of people are created, he , Toohey, can very well play the role of a dictator. The people become puppets to his ideals. They become rebels for his sake . They are fooled into thinking that this is the sort of person they are! And when such group of people join, they feel strong, they feel commonly encouraged , they feel reassured that they are like everyone else and that is one of those worst scenario that can happen with individuals. Their own self is sucked out of them. They become people without 'self'; 'selfless'. And that is the very idea conveyed in the book. Social media communities do work this way. People there are made to believe that this is what is right. After reading Fountainhead for the first time , when I tried to get a downloaded version to read it once again( as it was the book which belonged to my aunt and which I had returned after reading) I saw a lot of comments posted on the author and the book in that site. Almost every comment was negating the author and the grounds of the criticism were totally absurd! I really felt surprised because I could totally relate to her view.
The article is right on what it says about ' orthodoxy'. People who support one set of views, that is either sympathetic to the left or the right, will only argue or debate from their own ground. They never try to listen to what the other has to say. People who have a middle ground are more broad-minded. But, again, it is difficult to stick to middle grounds, on the run people mostly tend to have a little more sympathy to one ideal than the other.

Social media has become an integral part of our lives which can be both fulfilling and destructive. Let us think about a scenario, that you have registered on online communities like quora, blogs related to studies with an fake identity. So that you don't want to be identified. In this anonymous state, you might find yourself comfortable to place your views bravely. This shows that you particularly interested in studying, what is social media?,what is technology?, how you present yourself to others?. This is kind of co-constitutive relationship, we construct the technology but the technology also constructs us. On the other hand it's also helpful for many burglars to come up with new ideas by using many social platforms. Infact many real world thefts have their roots in social media only. By the use of fake profiles on social platforms many liberal individuals, groups, opposite party leaders even ruling party leaders with the help of paid meme creators are now spreading rumors, outright lies against each other.
This picture reminds me a starting line of a book, " happy families are alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way ". According to this quote, in the dining also these two people engrossed in sending messages who literally few inches away from each other.we actually fail to cultivate relationships offline.

And they started avoiding people and got drunk in the glamorous social media world and this distanced people from each other. As a result they started becoming strangers inside the same roof. This even made the food in front of them not so primary. So this gives the clear picture for people not socializing themselves in this real world.

It's not so effective and productive even after they've introduced so advanced technology cause people are using it in a wrong context to vent out their vengeance without understanding the proper picture of the issue. Many of them are not thinking on their own as there are many remarks and comments they've started thinking about how others would react to it and they've lost their own perception. More a person uses social media the more he loses his relationship with others. So as a result he loses his individuality and gets triggered by collectivism.

  35. Article: As a person who is not so much into the structure of social media civilization , I could not really judge the ideas articulated in the article. I find social media promoting both individualism as well as collectivism. It just fluctuates and depends on each plot. It has helped an being to voice out his opinion, to reach out to the public, gaining support and attention. Sometimes the explicit contra has happened too, where certain perspectives were labelled erroneous by the so called frame of reference of the society and suppressed from reaching out to the majority. In the same social media platform, we have both people who stoutly put forward their opinions and people who just follow them for mere blandishments. Inevitable is the fact that humans are basically  social animals and even smallest of any communal interactions makes our life going and gives us a secured feeling of social belongingness. It is the people who must circumspect when it comes to a social media because things can be very much misleading and persuasive in the way it is enticingly put together. We must be able to judge and scrutinize the happening to use the powerful platform cogently, which is at many times a planned propaganda event.

Picture: Is the technology really to be culpable here? It is indeed not surprising that the the society is blaming the technological advancements and social networks but not our temptation. It is natural that humans tend to bypass getting criticized for our blunders. also, It is an undeniable fact that technology has coalesced in our life, in every way possible. Owing to the superiority of six senses, we are capable of opting who the boss here is - technology or us? We must be the deciding authorities of our own life. As shown in the picture, if there are two people attuning for a dinner time, they must choose what is worth doing at that moment- whether to look at the eyes of their beloved, sharing stresses and glees of the day, or to look at their very accordant mobile phones. It is apparently the people, their incapability to decide their own life’s happening, is getting reflected in this illustration. Though I have other contradictory perspectives, I would rather prefer to stick to this opinion out of gratitude I owe to Skype, face time, google duo etc. who remedied me in contacting my father when he was far.

  36. The article conveys a very important message to the current generation of people who are practically obsessed with social media. The author is very true in saying that nowadays, people are only concerned about the number of followers they get when they post an idea in a social media platform. Needless to say that these so called number of followers are not people who actually have a similar thought, but are people who want to join the biggest crowd and the most trending idea, however moronic it is. This way, people actually fail to think for themselves and end up adapting some other person's thought. People tend to put forward or speak up their thoughts only when they have a huge crowd support behind them. The few people who do come forward are criticized and shamed by the larger crowd. Ironically, these very few people also end up joining the bigger crowd in fear of criticism. That is how the number of people who think for themselves have been reducing with time!

Picture: The picture exactly represents today's world where people are uncomfortable in talking to each other face to face. They are unable to express their feelings in person. Social media apps are becoming very convenient for people to hide their faces and sit back and comment. The time is nearing when our faces will forget how to express and we rely on a machine to speak for us!

It is sad thing to see how technology influences the privacy of an individual. People nowadays are so much engrossed in social networking sites that completely detach them not only from surroundings also from their close ones. They even don't have time to have conversation in person but rather prefer on texting. In my opinion cultivating relationships 'offline' is important than on 'online'. Small things like hearing from friends ,family and feeling listened to can make a big difference in ones life.

    ARTICLE :
This article clearly illustrates how people's mind are influenced by social media. I agree that social media are misleading the community to a mishap but we can't deny the fact that it also made many benefits in every sector. People refuse to express their own thoughts and blindly support the crowd as they fear of criticism and humiliation from that crowd. My point is that social media is not only a communication medium but is all about sociology and psycology more than a technology. It should be every individual's social response to have a knowledge on a contraversial issue before humiliating or trolling it. As it is smartphone era the below phrase should be said in this way "if you have lemons post it on instagram " unless it is right thing that should benefit not only yourself as well as to others.

  39. The society is made up of individuals and similar opinions of a large number of individuals becomes the opinion of the society. The others may have different opinions but the probability that they voice out their's depends on the mob. Even celebrities who are influential, remain silent fearing that they might be targeted or that the mob may start disliking them. I could connect this article with so many incidents happening these days in India, especially in Tamilnadu and I would comment in relation to it.

This mob 'culture' is a serious issue here and if this continues I'm afraid that these "online youngsters" can fall a prey to the self-interest of some evil politicians. The best example is the protest relating to the Kaveri issue which turned into a protest against IPL matches. CSK fans were bashed not only in Twitter and Facebook but also in "real world". Even then, there were people who supported this barbaric attack on those CSK fans. There were videos portraying a police officer being thrashed by the mob. No political leader, neither those of the ruling party, nor those of the opposition raised a voice regarding this.

The jallikattu protest is just a happenstance. We can't keep quoting a positive incident every time and start doing rubbish. People must be brave enough to tell the mob if they are wrong and the mob as a whole should think about their opinion if the counter argument make sense (which I don't think will happen in the near future).

Only when people acquire a mindset to listen to what the other person says and then decide whether they wish to agree or disagree with it, this mob culture may not stop.

The same thing might happen if we choose not to communicate face-to-face. Who knows ?! May be the future humans may lose their ability to speak !!

Coming to reality, this kind of behavior will make us less social. People think that's cool. But that is not true. We humans are social beings, in need of love and compassion. People may wish you 'Happy Birthday' and inquire about your well being 'online'. But when you are in difficult situations in reality, all you are left with are the ones who really talk to you face-to-face.

So stop 'chatting' and start 'talking'.

From this article, I come to know that the social media plays a role in dividing the people in the name of tribalism. Thus the social media makes the single group stronger and the splitted groups among a single community becomes weaker .. At the same time like minded people, if they have a unique kind of talents or interests , social media itself acts as a platform to give them, the opportunities to unite and they work together and finally succeed in that.
So we couldnt give any perfect solution for these kind of issues. So it depends on the usage of the individuals.

I totally agree with the article. 'Tribalism' being highlighted in many small examples, social media takes the wrong way. Group forming should promote healthy thinking and should create new ideas. Instead, 'tribalism' rules the social media. Let it be the CUNY law school protesting incident or forming groups in facebook, we should have some private thinking. So if the group takes a wrong way, your individuality can help them think about the consequences or even think in a different way rather than promoting collectivism. A group should always help you grow and generate more ideas than promoting narrow thinking or accepting your crowd's idea. Even inside the group few struggle to fit in. People lack common sense in social media and follows the herd which spreads fake news and induce anger. So, social media slowly transforms into a battlefield affecting people's mind. They furiously throw their comments like wastes into dustbin. On the other side, the pros of social media is diverse. Starting from the Jallikattu protest, social media have been a great platform for people in getting news from every part of the world. Without those groups in Facebook, the protest wouldn't have been a success. If people from some place is facing an issue, groups from the other side raise their voices and fight for them. Besides the pros and cons, we must be in the safer side to handle the technology in the correct way but if we don't we must be ready for the consequences.

    PICTURE
The picture clearly depicts the present day scenario. A couple texts each other even though they are dining together. Social media is a boon for the world yet many use it in an unpleasant way. The developing technology has been highly misused by most people. Things that need to be done in person must be done in person. We think we are connecting to many people but in reality we are disconnecting us from the people around us. Technology will never help to increase or maintain human values and relationships. Technology is effective only if we depend on them for supporting our lives and enriching it with better communication. So, I conclude by saying that I oppose the habit in the picture and support for limitations in using technology.

This picture clearly depicts how we are currently obsessed with modern technology and often getting lost in all of the social media. We live in a world where communication through modern technology is a quintessential thing. Everyday we are forgetting our loved ones and engaging ourselves in social media for the sake of entertainment and to kill time. Cell phones have changed communication because now, instead of actually having face to face conversation, everyone text each other. This is bad because intent become misinterpreted which can lead to "drama" and relationshp problems. The day to day updates of social media along with amusing hashtags, likes, shares and comments, we're seeing a new form of anxiety emerge!

    ARTICLE :
I totally agree with the idea of the article. The article clearly describes the race between individualism and collectivism in the social media platforms, specifically in "Twitter". The internet has afforded many individuals an easy venue to voice their opinion in the universal human online community, and the massive space and immense tolerance of internet has encouraged a diverse range of opinions. Nowadays, social media has become so ingrained in our daily habits that we don't even realize how much time we spend scrolling through digital feeds, videos and walls. Even Iam the one who spend a whole day on social media. This addiction drug tends us to waste our precious time in craving for internet connection, monitoring constantly the like and share we receive and also looking at the nonsense and procrastinate. "Sorting" is a natural behavior. Never in human history have human intentionally sought to live among others who are greatly dissimilar. We tend to associate with others who share our believes, behavior, appearance and economic status.

    Article :
I agree with the article .
Individualism "promotes the exercise of one's goals and desires and so value independence and self-reliance". Is social media influencing individualism?
Accordingly if you analogize with social media effect, there is two dimensional impact on personal morals from this perspective. At first we observe the independence of each individual for their interaction with social media and this could lead to a better moral raise. On the other hand it is a source of super-massive information cycle from all over the world without much restriction and validation that could result in a huge mental-biasing. If we compare these two arguments I would say neither the social media contributes to individualism based on this definition and nor reduces it.
But, honestly speaking as a social media user, I would say that it is difficult to put forward a non conformist opinion on social media so we tend to adopt or atleast display very non-individualistic stances.
Im very similar to Kevin williamson that social media affect journalism. Think about a magazine ( for example , take India today ) which completely requires a team work managed by powerful editor for almost a week to collect various politicial, cinima and social informations all over India to just publish one magazine . But today, social media not requires these kind of works, even they get life only by our writings, displaying " WRITE SOMETHING" .
At the same time, I can argue that social media create echo chambers and cyber balkanization, where users only get to see the content they are already interested in. Thus, social media would lead to more groupthinking and less individualism.

    Picture:
According to this picture, in the dining also these two people engrossed in sending messages who literally few inches away. When the people share their thoughts and also emotions via social media for example facebook and whatsapp in some case they contact with the other people and extend their relationships. But when they want to contact with the other people in the real world sometimes they have problems, because after using social media in the visual worlds they prefer to share their contents via social media. They use to sit and use less energy to argue with the other people in the visual world. In my view, this may be the reason for the scenario in this picture.

I can see that they aren't as comfortable with face to face interaction thriving in an online environment and yeah social media have become a huge part of today's society.

The article: I believe that the problem with social media isn't the media, its the media. The crowd (followers) is always with us on social media. The part where the article says about the debates play out on social media is quiet interesting for me and a reporter in Iraq, after the US invasion when he interviewed Iraqis, that stuff happened and the article concludes, they did it for the crowd and that is what social media training all of us to do and can see it reflected in the real life. I strongly agree this, for example we can see some of the comments over the social issue pages on Facebook. Social media is providing opportunity for individuals who may be afraid of speaking in public to become more vocal online and make connections. Positivity and negativity comes from everything. No one is perfect in this world. Only the way they handle the social media matters.

For example, when Iraqui residents were questioned about Iraq’s invasion by U.S., they responded in different ways when asked the same question in person and in the presence of a crowd. As rightly said by Lao Tzu, ‘If we care about what other people think, we will always be their prisoners’, so we must never give up our originality, for anyone and under any circumstance. According to the article, this is a major problem caused by the “social” part of the social media and I agree with this idea. We must never change our originality for the sake of others because no one can play our role better than us. Every one of us have our own principles and we need not pretend for someone else’s satisfaction… Last but not the least, our lives should be in accordance with the saying of Samuel Smiles, a Scottish author and a government reformer “A man without principles and will is like a ship without a compass, it changes direction with every change of wind”.
    PICTURE
This picture is a representation of what today’s generation is moving towards, frankly speaking they’re right out there. The experience we gain by speaking to different people, makes us learn many valuable lessons in life. These are the values to be imbibed, instead we see everyone looking always at their mobile phones. This is a real time incident, once we cousins went out to a restaurant. One of my cousin was staring at her mobile phone. Then we decided to leave the place and notice how she reacts…. She noticed our absence only after 15 minutes, it was very shocking… Now-a-days, I guess the reason behind divorce is, couples talk more with their mobile phones than having a healthy interaction with their partner… Every problem has a solution if it’s discussed with the person involved…. Every one of us will be able to lead a peaceful life, if this addiction towards mobile phones is absent in this world….

Humans have the capacity and knowledge to create something new, technically advanced but doesn't have the control over it . They enslave themselves in these gadgets, cell is a CELL that cages you ,this doesn't allow us to explore our talents , stops us from reaching our goals , simply exploiting our precious time. The people nowadays are more social only in the social media ,even if the person who they text comes in front of them ,they don't give much attention ,they simply ignore and start texting ( textoverts!!). In this image a boy and a girl went to a date to spend some meaningful time , share some good memories, looking into each other's eyes and enjoy the romance there but these guys are completely missing it ,they are caged to their phones and social media . They like more to text on social media because they can hide their true and real nature behind a mask and show a part of them what the other person wishes to see, so they lose the identity, character who really they are

The picture is a clear depiction of how life in the 20th century is ! Social media has become more like a way of living and an addiction nowadays that people are forced to share pictures and post to flaunt or just show others how fancy their meal has been and ya ! these have definitely diminished to a notable scale, the concept of living in real time which would certainly reduce human values and the care and concern for their fellow beings.

    Article :
The article explains in a beautiful way how social media ,a platform meant to bring people closer has actually moved them apart. The author has put up a point about how every person loose their individualities when it comes to addressing a crowd. I totally agree with this. Yes ! Socializing is being considered as a way of gaining attention rather than passing on facts that are to be addressed. Likes and re-tweets have become more important than analysing and appreciating things that are geniune. People have grown desperate for appreciation that they entertain people by portraying issues in a way it would be welcomed which indirectly increases every individuals fear of being criticized and suppressing down the chances for the truth to be voiced out. But I guess realisation has hit hard many people and this trend would soon change and the world would use social media in a way how it was supposed to be used - as a boon !

  58. ARTICLE : The idea of individualism and collectivism in the article is well said. The future world is walking towards collectivism losing its ability to go through its inner conscientiousness to speak for what they feel. When I read the article, it feels like to compare with the magicians where they wear a mask and perform tricks to fool around the audience. It’s just the tricks and not really anything else that attracts the audience. I can so much relate to it as everyone is trying to trick people around them which is indeed attracting the audience. It’s definitely not the originality of the person. He wears a mimic mask to play tricks with the outer world which is reflecting back fooling himself with all these fake reality. Except the fact that you know a lot of things through all these social media, it feels like it doesn’t really make people expand their minds. It makes us settle for certain ideologies rather than believing our own. We are trying to comfort others rather than comfort our own thoughts and beliefs. Over a period of time, we are just becoming like puppets dancing to others beats. Where does all your thoughts and beliefs about everything around you goes? Why dance according to others beats while you can choreograph your own dance moves? Why do you have to accept everything of others to live YOUR LIFE? These questions should indeed rise up on the minds of everyone responding to comfort others by sacrificing their ideologies. Why do we even have to do that?

Social media is now an integral part of our lives. Social media sites can make it more difficult for us to distinguish between the meaningful relationships we foster in the real world and the numerous casual relationships formed through social media. It allows instant communication with friends and family and automatically provides up to date information also known as "statuses" while allowing us to find new individuals to meet.
    ARTICLE
The first thing that grabbed my attention was ultimately the title of the article, The Problem with Social Media isn't the medium but the "social" part in it. It gradually tempts us and develops the thirst to know the views of the author to justify his comment. He stated that every social media company sells itself to us by talking about how they're bringing the world together and helping to "build communities". While on the surface it appears social networking brings people together across the Internet, in a larger sense it may create social isolation. There is increase in users attachment as technology and related services become increasingly personalised and customised. Now we hold all the social media account in our smartphone. Thus we eventually become an addict to it, which increases the risk of "nomophobia", feeling of panic or stress some people experience when they're unable to access or use their mobilephones. There is also a quantum of risk in our safety issues. As there was one incident where robbers using user's geo location on Facebook to find out when target is at home or not. And that interview part with a young man in Iraq is a sad truth to be accepted. Once we become consious that we are being watched by someone, the way we express ourself becomes confined, more than delivering our own thought, we ponder upon the thought or what the crowd might think if we talk that. No man will be his own. "But an attempt to guess the thought in the brain of his neighbor who have no thought of his own and so on", as written in Ayn Rand's novel The Fountainhead. The global number of people using social media has grown by 13 percent in the past 12 months, with Central and Southern Asia recording the fastest gains. In 2019, it is estimated that there will be around 2.77 billion social network users around the globe. The reason for this rise in count could possibly be cause of those small groups of likeminded people connected through this platform(social media). As author said this can turn out to be a small-minded small town of its own. As both sides of a coin, we cannot blame the social media completely. It is the user whom should be blamed. It is his fault for failing to manage the current and distant(social media) relationships.

    ARTICLE:
From this article ,we must agree the fact that the problem in social media is always social. Though there are too many positive angles in social media but the negative sides plays the major role in our society. The ideas given by this article is the same....yes! I agree that social media is used for people's unity but it works when people are in large scale. On one on one conversion people's get to know each other but it could not happened in social media ... Getting out of social media and try to spend time with loved one's make our life move in positive way.
    PICTURE:
This picture despicts that the smart phone is hacking people's mind .both the men and women are connected by environment where the technology is a ruling party..we should not allow technology to rule our mind. Too much of technologies spoil everything..so give some rest to technology and spend time with loved one's..

The social media has it's both boons and banes ,it's up to the people what they chose.
Psychologically people will be attracted and like to spend time with others who have resembling characters. In social media people could find their tribes (people who are in the same wavelength of thinking) - tribalism. People would also love their views to be recognized and respected . Whether their views are right or wrong they always get support from the same minded people (tribe).people blindly accept what is posted on their group without even checking The source is reliable or not, the information is right or not. The problem comes when these same minded people are far apart in the world and these guys need to face different types of people in the real world around them. They couldn't tolerate someone's views which differs from theirs and create an ambush there. People love to be in the reel world (social media) than to be on the real world.
Example: the recent murders in India due to the sharing fake messages showing someone's photo as a child abductor. When these messages are forwarded in a group people doesn't analyze whether that is true or not they simple believe it.
When they see that person in the photo , the person is beaten to death without any questions.
Nearly 20 were beaten to death like that. People must be able to identify the real world from the reel world (social media) and be happy in the real world

  62. Picture: While social media were hailed as great unifiers that would connect and bring people together, now they seem to be tearing us apart. Conversation became chats. So people lack depth. In this world full of emojis, they couldn't feel the warmth of words. Also people lose self confidence and courage. Because, updating an angry whatsapp status is very easy than conversing with the concerned person. But we can't blame social media for making us sink into our mobile phones. It is us, who should know how to make use of its best features.
Article: I concur! Far from breaking down global barriers and exposing us to challenging new opinions, these platforms simply make it easier to find like-minded people in whatever corner of the world they were hiding before. Social media naturally organises us into bubbles of people with the same opinions.
We are well adapted to debates in person. But in social media, sitting in front of a flat screen it is harder. when people share opposing opinions it’s a natural behaviour to simply want to unfollow, or even block them; and ultimately there’s something inherently disarming about face-to-face contact which doesn’t seem to apply online. Also, it’s easy for hatred to develop against people you don’t see. This leads rapidly to a context collapse where your news and information is no longer shared alongside a representative range of opinions, but filtered to reinforce your own beliefs.
Also, social media is designed in such a way that your feed is customised by your likes and preferences and filtering out opposing opinions. This just amplifies your own side of argument rather analysing the opposing opinion.

  63. PICTURE : Well the picture says it all. The picture certainly portrays how the world is getting our eyes down rather than walking up straight. Let me begin with how the relationships are getting weaker with the social media. Let me put this out first by asking a question. Does the social media be it any means convey your feelings like the eye to eye conversation does? Most of the time it is these media which leads to a lot of misinterpretation. The real messages you want to convey is always mistaken for something else which is leading to a lot of needless trouble be it some professional message or personal message. Do you think the food you’re taking with all your mind on the phones get you healthy? It’s a big no. And when I want to share a thought about mindfulness, it always says whatever you do, you have to have your full mind on the particular thing alone so that it really gets to you in full package be it food, be it work, be it conversation with your parents or even with your loved ones. When you have your minds somewhere wandering and having a conversation or a meal is not really going to make you happy or contented. It doesn’t even make you feel alive. You become some hopeless robot just typing out or surfing out through social media. All I can say about this picture is that, these social media platforms are to brighten our lives and not really to make us robots living a life without even knowing the reason to live it. And I would suggest the people in the picture and the ones who are reading it to LIVE IN THE MOMENT. That’s where you really feel like you lived your life.

The article shows how the most of people a.k.a "socials" on the social medias like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc are greatly influenced by the concept of "collectivisim" rather than following "idealisim". With widespread increase in media distortions a.k.a "fake news and promotions" spreading on social media, many people don't want to voice out their honest opinions believing that it would lead to severe backlash from their so-called "followers" and decline their popularity. These people are compelled by the propaganda to be lulled into a false sense of insecurity rather than thinking critically to analyze the scenario. For example, let's analyze the Kolkata Metro incident which occurred on 02.05.2018. The public display of affection a.k.a PDA (here - hugging) showed by a couple on-board a crowed metro rail resulted in the thrashing the couple in public especially by the elderly. This incident lead the people to share their views on social media especially Facebook. With the youngsters supporting the thrashed couple citing that such PDA is common in Kolkata but majority of the people supported the elderly stating that such acts are against the Indian culture. Even a Kolkata metro official commented on their official Facebook page saying that mobbing the couple was the correct thing to do!. I don't know but most of the people either remain silent or voice their opinions such that the crowd is pleased with their views (I am neutral regarding the metro incident).

    Picture
This shows the reality in which we live. We tend to be "Chained to the Rhythm" and be glued to the technology. We depend on our gadgets for most of the stuff even affection. But how long can people depend upon such electronics? Nowadays people don't see a world beyond their gadgets. They fail to show their true self in person but they are comfortable using the gadgets and media to shower their opinions.

  65. “Changes exerted in the surrounding all of a sudden, demand/impose mandatory change of behaviors” – self quoted. Even though Ayn Rand’s “The Fountain Pen” novel expresses Individualism and Collectivism, it fails to address the captivism exerted on the people. All of a sudden launching a new platform kindles various inquires in their hearts. Will it suit for them? Do they fit in the space? Is this really what we have to do? All these queries will be either solved by having a word with others or with themselves in the place of others. Either way peculiarity is lost. Each person adapting every other around him results in blanking his sheet and filling it up with other irrelevant and discontinuous entries. Thus even highly enhanced logical thinkers are prone to emotional fraud or damages. How does it relate to social media? Well where do you think the smileys/emojis evolved from. People fool themselves thinking that whatever they do is repaid/being repaid, whereas the truth is everyone is just like the every other one by the dust and atoms. Social media is initiated as a good tool, but unfortunately people mistook the words care, concern, work, priority and importance. Everyone started overwhelming with either of them. As a result, society lost its balance and rational thoughts and began to gather people around not for work just to gather even more people. As it goes on and on, people would be around each other not to care but prove they are not hating to do it. On the other hand social media is still circulating bravery (among introverts), super powers(words) and few other utilities(immediate response/call etc.) Hence its definitely not only the mob , but the social media is also responsible for the way its linking people together.

    PICTURE
“A girl feels shy till the first time, a boy feels shy until the girl hints otherwise”
Girls usually like to make boys(the close ones) wait even for their silliest works. It’s just to spend more time? “well, may be”, never mind. This boy and girl in the picture are on a date? on a issue? on a lunch?. I think they have issues on their previous lunch dates(just kidding). Both of them may be tied to a older things which kept them apart. Or the worst case scenario(rare), two socially close enough introverts meeting for the first time, texting each other. However they are here not just to text, let’s hope at least they won’t order their food online.

  66. Views about the article :
The article clearly explains the modernized form of "Divide and rule" policy. Previously , it involved careful planning and arduous efforts to distract a group of people causing internal fights so that a governing body could function without hindrance . Now , probably it just involves a little bit of stalking and the knowledge to sense the apt content to incite negativity and anger among groups. Kevin Williamson's firing due to a tweet is a perfect example of this , where people's opinions were clouded by the direct meaning of the words of his tweet rather than atleast considering the reason(past experience) that led to his conclusion. The initial negative opinion about an otherwise forgotten tweet triggered the rest. Thus , herd mentality and considering a single person's eccentric point of view as a crime is promoted by the "socials" who are users/slaves of media. This slowly paves our way towards destruction rather than the progress that we had initially hoped for .

    Picture :
The picture portrays two people seeking happiness , care and friendship in the virtual world even though both the harsh reality that the virtual world is an illusion and the person who could provide them with what they seek are right in front of them . They fail to see it because they do not take the time nor the effort to look up and see the world due to the 'fear of missing out'.

    ARTICLE:
Social media oriented! We focus more on spending our time on our mobile devices rather than constructive discussions. Before the advent of Social Media, people used their cells just for calling and texting. Now, they can be used for multi-purpose applications. While this has benefited us to a large extent, increasing convenience and saving time, the after-effects can’t be neglected. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have together ensured that we remain occupied even after our working hours. We spend endless hours chatting and texting people. This has created a world where we are being constantly pushed away from the real world. I also want to add YouTube as a website which can be used both as a source of creating mindless videos as well as entertaining and knowledgeable videos at the same time. The youth has been rendered useless because they spend a lot of time in seeing vines and roasts on YouTube rather than seeing thought provoking videos. The lack of practical skills and presence of mind has affected the employment rate too. We have the required knowledge, but we don’t know how to apply it. But Social media also has a lot of benefits. It can also be used as a medium of gaining knowledge. We can make pictures, videos and texts which aware people or give knowledge to them about a certain topic. We can even use blogging websites and express our thoughts and opinions regarding a topic. This makes us open to debates and discussions where people from all around the globe pour in their countless ideas. In this way, we can improve our intellect and knowledge. So Social Media is here to stay. It is up to us to minimize its harms and maximize its benefits.
    PICTURE:
This picture depicts that people in restaurants all the time who are sitting across the table from each other, and instead of staring at each other, they’re staring at their phones. “We were really curious:.Is it having an impact on people’s social interactions, how much they’re enjoying the time they’re spending with other people?”. The short answer, they found, is yes — and not for the better.Phone use during a meal led to a modest but noticeable decrease in diners’ enjoyment,

‌This remains a famous saying that "Even the bitter food tastes good by sweet conversation during eating". But here its a contrast . It also says how the interaction between people got reduced and everyone are busy with their own work in their own world of social media. This is the sad reality that's happening in our modernized world. Its also our mistake that everyone are trying to be trending in modern world of social media and losing our own world of reality . We are ready to express our feelings in the social media first than with people around us at the moment.I feel that this condition need to be changed right now orelse the situation may become worst that can't be rectified forever .

‌It explains about the ill effects of the social media in a different aspects . People today are greatly influenced by these social media. They are not even completely aware of the problems that may arise in the future. The people must became aware of the events that are taking place in this world and react accordingly in the social medias. We can be active in social medias but not be over active that may destroy the privacy and individualism.
